Adventurous Summer Club
Hand in Hand is launching a new summer program and want your teen/young adult to join us!
WHAT IS ASC? Adventurous Summer Club (ASC) is a unique summer program designed for individuals 16-21 years. This 3 day/week option delivers fun, social, community-based activities-with an emphasis on independence-for teens and young adults of all abilities. ASC is going places! Every day will include cool adventures in the Quad Cities area and beyond.
SCHEDULE: ASC will be offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30am-4:00pm
ASC will not meet on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth and July 4th for Independence Day. Our program will additionally close for 2 weeks during Camp Hand in Hand- July 10-14 and July 17-21.
LOCATION: We will meet at Tessa’s Place (3860 Middle Road Bettendorf, IA 52722), then take our bus to the Bettendorf Public Library. With a library meeting room as our ‘home base’, we will spend our days exploring our community, returning to Tessa’s Place for pick-up.
STAFFING: ASC will be coordinated and led by Hand in Hand’s Director of Recreation, Bailee Waddell, assisted by trained caregiver staff. Higher participant-to-staff ratios will encourage independence while ensuring the supervision and support to meet each individual’s care needs.
MEALS AND DRINKS: Participants are asked to bring a cold lunch each day and may also bring breakfast and preferred snacks or drinks. Healthy snacks and water will also be available throughout the day. Please plan to bring a refillable water bottle to use for field trips.
